I was very spoilt with handmade Christmas gifts this year and thought you might like to see what I received.
My Mum knitted me a blanket, which made me so happy! The tricky thing with blankets is that they are very hard to photograph properly, so I’ve taken a photo of it unfolded over the sofa and then a pic of how it will normally sit, with a cushion for extra comfort. I love this blanket so much and it looks so nice in our lounge room.
This next gift was really unexpected and such a gorgeous surprise! One of my lovely blog readers (Lisa from Life in Segments) sent me these three woollen doilies for Christmas. How nice is that!? I can’t get enough of the blue and yellow colour combination, so these pretties are now scattered around the house – two in my tiny creative space and one on our dining room table.
This gift was for Richard and myself, a beautiful wooden serving tray made by Bella in her year 7 wood working class. I’m christening it tonight to use when we have wood fired pizza too – can’t wait.
My mother-in-law spent forever (literally!) working on this set of hand stitched placemats for me and I love how each one is different. They’ll be perfect to use every night for our family meals and there are an extra two for when we have guests over. Win!
Lastly, the cross-stitched Christmas decorations were made by mother-in-law, the house decoration by my pen pal Leonie, the heart by another nice pen pal (Jaime) and the cross-stitched bag was made by my German pen pal, Bonita. I’m going to use the bag came filled with German treats, but I’m going to use to store a mini craft project in.
I feel very spoilt by all the lovely handmade goodness this year, Christmas is the best really!
Well, I need to finishing preparing all the toppings for tonight’s pizza now, so I’d better scoot on out of here.
