A new weekly series on the blog | Making time for myself | fresh air
I finally feel like the outdoors and myself are friends, good friends. I’ve always really enjoyed getting outside with my family, but I’ve never really been one to venture out there by myself. Last year I started forcing myself to start a new habit of walking in the bush and to be honest, I hated it. Apart from wondering if there was an axe murderer hiding behind every single tree and freaking out when I heard strange thumping noises in the bush (kangaroos & wallabies pounce hard!), I just found it, well, boring.
A couple of months before Christmas something strange happened, I actually started enjoying the outdoors and now I love doing weekly walks by myself. There’s always something different to look at and spot, plus I do my best thinking out there.
This week I was thinking that bush walking (hiking) is really something that I want to keep on doing and it’s a really nice way of ensuring that I make time for myself. It helps to clear my mind, it’s a great way to exercise and there’s something good about breathing in fresh air from the bush.
Hopefully you’ve found some time for yourself this week too,
