Hello lovely One Crafty Mumma readers, I love reading Mel’s Blog so of course I am super excited to be here!
I am Mamie from Make it Mamie and I love to make things, I truly believe that making is good for the soul! Even when we make the simplest things like dinner, I mean how good does it feel when you make a delicious home cooked meal for your family and every one of your family devour it, so good right? Well I love to make all sorts of things but especially scrap pages, soaps, snail mail, paper things, felt things and a little bit of crochet, so that is the kind of thing that I share on my blog.
Today I thought I would share some Valentine’s craft since it is coming soon. I love to make valentines a little special for my 3 boys (hubby included) – usually I make the dinner table a little special and last year I added a love bug helium balloon which they loved. This year I thought it would be nice to write each of them a nice love note, just to remind them how much I love them.
So I came up with this heart shaped note holder. I thought that it would be nice to hang on their door so they could find it on Valentine’s day morning. I also thought it would make a lovely gift to leave on one of my friend’s doors, imagine coming home and a lovely friend has left you a little love note on your front door, so much fun!
It was really simple to make, I’ve just cut three pieces of felt into a heart shape and cut a slit in the top one then stitched some hand cut felt letters to the top- love notes. I then blanket stitched all three layers together, just before stitching it closed I filled the back two layers with stuffing. Stitched it closed and then added a ribbon to the top of it.
I’ve added in some hand stitched tags that would be cute with a little heartfelt message on them and also some love candy, but you could add anything you like. My boys would love to find some chocolate in it!
Thankyou so so much Mel for having me! I’m really looking forward to reading others guest posts too.
